Welcome to my website and thank you for dropping by. When Michael and I took that road trip to the Southwest United States, I took one of my Native Flutes and played it everywhere! On the bank of the Colorado River, in the Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, on the bank of Lake Powell etc. etc. Playing my North American Native Flute in so many of God's masterpieces, was a true honor. At one point in Moab, Utah, a gentleman heard me playing and then told me he plays as well. He shared with me that he volunteers for Hospice and plays for people who are dying. That planted the seed in my brain and now I do the same thing. It is indeed a privilege and a blessing for me to be allowed to be there at this time.
As we speak, Michael and I are finally recording the Native Flute and Drum CD that has been rolling around in my head for a while now. Heather Dale came up the other day to add her special touch to a few of the cuts. We truly appreciate her coming up from Toronto to participate. Heather is a nice as she is talented too. www.heatherdale.com She doesn't know it yet, but I'd love to have her on my Christmas CD also. ;o)
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of co-hosting a radio program on our local Country Station, KICX106 with Neil Anthony. I just loved it! What a hoot!!! Talk about a nice guy! Michael shot a wee video clip which you can check out here on this site.
The role of Aunt March in the Musical 'Little Women', gave me another challenge which I thoroughly enjoyed. Kudos to Scott Hurst who directed it as the production took quite a few THEA awards.
My "Tribute to the Fallen" which I composed to honour those who have fought and fallen for our freedom, and those who are continuing to fight and fall, has been scored by the music school at Canadian Forces Base Borden. It is my heartfelt wish that this piece become a tradition at military funerals and memorials across the Nation, played by pipebands as a slow march. This piece is also appropriate for Firefighter and Police memorials and funerals. . What a thrill! What an honour!!! Speaking of our troops, don't forget to wear red on Fridays.
Don't forget that I am available for bookings including weddings, funerals, anniversaries, birthdays, memorials and house concerts where I will enterain your friends and relatives right in the comfort of your living/family room. In addition to voice and guitar and North American Native Flute, I play a large variety of rhythm instruments with which children in schools, or anywhere for that matter, like to experiment and experience.
Thanks again for dropping by and please don't forget to sign the guest book. Hearing from you certainly warms my heart. There are many more pages than the one showing when you first visit there. Just scroll back up and hit the number drop-down menu.
Hugs and best wishes,
Mary-Florence Bartley xo ;o)
